Engineering services

BioFlex offers a full mechanical engineering service portfolio. Most projects combine several of the capabilities below, scoped to suit the customer's existing engineering and procurement processes.

    Concept and Detailed Design

    From early concept sketches and feasibility studies through to fully detailed manufacturing drawings, BIM/CAD models, and bills of materials. SOLIDWORKS is our primary platform, with SOLIDWORKS Composer used for assembly animations and interactive technical documentation.

    Engineering Analysis and Simulation

    Structural and thermal analysis, design-for-manufacture reviews, tolerance stack-up studies, and motion analysis for moving assemblies. We use simulation to de-risk designs before manufacture, particularly for fixtures handling expensive components or high-throughput packaging tooling.

  3. 03

    Manufacturing and Build

    You receive finished, tested equipment and tooling rather than a drawing pack. Capabilities include CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, surface finishing, mechanical assembly, and electrical/pneumatic integration. Procurement, quality control and assembly oversight stay with us from the drawing through to the crate.

    Reverse Engineering

    Worn or obsolete spare parts re-engineered from physical samples or partial drawings. Particularly valuable for legacy packaging tooling and agri-equipment where original OEM support is no longer economic. We can deliver a working replacement faster than waiting for an OEM quote in many cases.

  5. 05

    Prototyping and 3D Printing

    Rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing used to put a design in front of the people who will use it, early. Printed fixtures, jigs, and form models let ergonomics, clearance, and fit be checked on the line before any tooling is committed, and short-run printed parts cover the gap while production tooling is being made. Where a printed part is not fit for service, the prototype still de-risks the machined or moulded version that follows.

    Technical Documentation and Visualisation

    Interactive equipment catalogues, exploded-view animations, virtual tours of installed equipment, technical manuals, and customer-facing marketing content. Useful for OEMs supporting their sales process or for end-users producing internal training materials.
